Job Description – Director of IEE New York State Training Operations

            This individual shall be expected to coordinate and conduct asbestos, lead, OSHA Hazwoper, and specialty courses in permit-required confined space entry, lockout/tagout, indoor air quality, environmental site assessment, industrial hygiene, respiratory protection, etc., in New York, Vermont, and Massachusetts.

            Training Director shall develop and/or revise asbestos curricula, course materials, and examinations as may be required by Part 73 of the New York State Sanitary Code.  Training Director shall also monitor the performance of instructors conducting IEE Part 73 NYS asbestos courses, and the quantity and quality of such asbestos courses.  Training Director shall also be responsible for the proper maintenance of all IEE NYS asbestos courses.

 

 

 

Qualifications for NYS Training Director

            The Training Director shall have a minimum of one-year of experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating either employee educational programs in asbestos safety or vocational educational programs related to asbestos.

            The Training Director shall be approved, or capable of being approved, by the NYS DOH as lead instructor for initial and refresher asbestos courses for the training categories of building inspector, management planner, project designer, contractor/supervisor, worker/handler, operations and maintenance, project air sampling technician, and project monitor.

            The Training Director should also be experienced with all aspects of OSHA Hazwoper, lead in construction, and other OSHA standards.
