Yesterday, Today and Mission
Understanding and dealing effectively with environmental/occupational health and safety concerns has become critically important.  Since 1987, the Institute for Environmental Education, Inc. (IEE) has provided state-of-the-art training to thousands of individuals in all aspects of the environmental field: Asbestos Management and Control----Lead-Based Paint Inspection and Abatement----OSHA Compliance Training----Hazardous Waste Management, Environmental Assessments, as well as other related areas.

IEE was founded in 1987 at Woburn, Massachusetts as a wholly owned subsidiary of an asbestos consulting company.  In 1991, under new ownership, IEE separated from its parent company and became a Massachusetts corporation.

Although asbestos training courses were the mainstay at that time, IEE has continuously expanded into other areas of the environmental and safety & health fields since 1989.  In 1994 IEE began packaging individual courses into training programs in an effort to develop individuals for employment in a variety of disciplines within the environmental and occupational safety & health fields.

  Today...
IEE continues to offer courses to individuals as well as companies, organizations, and governmental agencies.  Most classes are conducted on a monthly basis at our headquarters in Wilmington, Massachusetts. To meet the demands of our clients, IEE also provides training seminars on-site at our clients' facility.  This gives the client the freedom to schedule courses when convenient for them, and in most cases, decreases the cost of training by avoiding travel expenses for all participants.  On-site courses can be utilized by a single company, a group of companies, or a group of individuals.

IEE employs professional staff who are experienced in developing and delivering quality environmental training courses.   IEE's strength lies in the outstanding quality of our staff and course instructors.  The Institute's faculty is composed of environmental specialists who are experts in their field.  IEE's course materials are enhanced through the substantial knowledge and experience of our instructors and training professionals from various disciplines throughout the lead, asbestos, and health and safety industries.  Courses are taught by environmental trainers, health professionals, industrial hygienists, legal and insurance specialists, contractors and consultants who are experts in their respective fields.

The staff at the Institute has a vast amount of experience conducting training with a variety of organizations and companies.  This experience has furnished us with the ability to adjust our presentations based on the needs of those attending.  By combining the use of written exercises, oral exercises, videos, slides and group discussion we are able to encompass the learning needs of various educational backgrounds.

  Mission Statement
The mission of the Institute for Environmental Education, Inc. is to honor God. This is reflected in the manner in which we conduct our business of training clients and individuals in the environmental and safety fields. Unfortunately, in today's business climate, many businesses and people resort to shortcuts and “skimming” the truth in running their business. At IEE, we strive to be fair, honest, and professional to our staff, clients, and in our training of environmental professionals. We seek to provide the highest quality of training to our students in an atmosphere conducive to professional and career development.

The Institute's purpose is to be a profitable business, as we prepare individuals for careers in the environmental and safety fields. Our training objective is to provide our students with the information they require to be ready to work with little or no on-the-job training. Except for learning specific company policies and procedures, graduates of our programs should be job-ready.

IEE cares about our students. Nothing is more rewarding than to see a student go through one of our programs and get a new promising future. Some of these students may have been downsized, dislocated and others may already be in the environmental field, but are looking to expand their horizons and abilities. Regardless of the reason, the education process, and assisting with placement and helping develop new careers, is a gratifying experience for me.

IEE wants to be the preferred source of quality environmental and safety training in New England.  Let us work along with you.  I want to thank you in advance for your interest.

From the President
